Mickie Lara | Senior Associate

Mickie has spent nearly two decades as a marketing and communications professional with extensive experience in marketing, advertising and business development for a diverse group of industries. She spent 16 years with an agency in Oklahoma City ultimately serving as their Chief Integration Officer where she managed key client relationships and was a leading member of the executive management team directing all agency strategy and initiatives. Mickie has expertise in facilitation and a strong understanding of the diplomacy required to work successfully with diverse teams.

Mickie received her Bachelor’s degree in marketing from Fort Hays State University in Kansas and her MBA from Oklahoma City University. She has been recognized as an Achiever Under 40 from the Journal Record and was a member of Leadership Oklahoma City, Class XXVI. She has also served as the Board President for Trinity School which is a school for “bright students who learn differently” as well as the Association for Women in Communications and the Gladney Center for Adoption’s Oklahoma Family Association.

Mickie is passionate about self-awareness and is a self-proclaimed personal development book and podcast enthusiast. She will almost never be without a copy of all of her favorites which of course include 5 Gears and 5 Voices.

She has seen, first hand, what a powerful transformation can occur when leaders are willing to know themselves to lead themselves and ultimately to lead their teams. It can truly be the difference for an organization to raise up leaders that people want to follow verses those they have to follow.

Mickie has been married to her husband Jeff for 25 years. They have a grown daughter, Jessica and an energetic, 12-year-old son, Jackson who is keeping them busy at this season of life. Mickie is almost never without a cup of coffee or tea and it has been noted that this could actually be her superpower.
